As someone who has travelled and lived overseas (and knows many people who do) it's not as glamorous as it sounds.

In the US you have (by world standards) clean air and water. Food is bland / subpar unless you live in NYC, one of the Texas or Florida metros, Boston, LA, or SF.

Everything is overpriced by 30 - 50 % except TEEVEEs.

Most of it is a boring matrix of boxes known as suburbs to hold people's stuff, which is still more attractive than slums and favelas.
